Halloween is often a problematic celebration for followers of Jesus with its pagan roots in the worship of Satan and the celebration of death. However recently in Western society it is more often about parties, dressing up or eating sweets, and can create unique opportunities to engage with our Trick or Treating neighbours.*
This content can be slotted into a usual Sunday morning or incorporated into a light party. It unpacks the Valley of Bones story in Ezekiel 37, revealing a God who does not ignore or overlook scary and gruesome things. He loves to step in to change and transform them. Our God is not afraid to get His hands dirty. Jesus dying on the cross is proof.
God loves to step in, and we can too!
